Podcasting 101

We have had several e-mails asking how we record the show and essentially how to do a podcast, so I'm going to post the information here for anyone who wants it.

We use Audacity to record the show when we are in the same room together. We have two mics, which are plugged into one port using a splitter. We started out only having one, but we now have two.

Audacity is a pretty good recorder and editor for what we do. It allows for multiple tracks. You will need to download the Lame encoder if you want to export your recordings into mp3 format (which you will), and that is a free download so don't worry.

The times that we are not in the same room, we use Skype to chat, while recording with HotRecorder. HotRecorder costs, but it is the only program that will record Skype conversations.

Finally, we use Libsyn.com to host the show. It is a great site that creates the RSS feed for you. It also has some great stat tracking. Libsyn costs money, though. It starts at $5 a month for 100mb. Then the price goes up along with the mb's of storage.

This is essentially all you need to get started podcasting. We use the blogger site right now because it is free and simple to use. We would eventually like to have our own site, but that costs money. Until then, we will use the myspace page and the blogspot page to post all of the information about the show.

I hope this helps all you aspiring podcasters out there. Pick a topic and make your voice heard.

This is part one of our two-part Nook episode. Phoenix and I are joined by K.B.B. (briefly) and Rev! That's right, Rev joins us from across the pond to talk about all things Nook.

Just to let you guys know, I am currently editing the new episode, but due to us going over our limit on our Libsyn account, I have to wait until the 30th to post it because that's when it resets. Trust me, it will be worth the wait! We have myself, Phoenix, K.B.B. and the debut of Rev! What more could you ask for?

Also, we mention a couple of different things we want you guys to think about. First, send us your town toon! Record it on your pc and e-mail it to us so we can use it on the show. Second, Phoenix came up with a "origin" for Tommy and Timmy. It's funny, but we want to see what you guys can come up with. Once you hear the episode you will understand.

Phoenix and I will be recording the show tonight at around 7:00 Central standard time. We will both open our gates while we're recording in case anyone wants to visit.

Also, it's still not too late to drop off your patterns for the contest. I did not have my gates open much this week due to playing New Super Mario Brothers. That game is great, although it makes my wife cuss a lot. lol!

More Animal Crossing Movie Info

Apparently an Animal Crossing movie is in the works and slated for a Japanese release in December. The proposed director, Jouji Shimura, is known for his work on titles such as Master Keaton and Shin Angyo Onshi. No release date for America is set and the animated feature is supposedly to remain true to the game's source material.

An Animal Crossing film directed by Jouji Shimura will open in December in Japan, according to the Hochi Shimbun. A number of the game's staff are reportedly involved. Thanks, Joshua Milewski.

Trees

There are tow types of trees that are available at Nook’s for 60 bells a piece. The Sapling, your regular tree, and the Cedar Sapling, which look like pine trees.

Acorns are available during the Acorn Festival in October. You can sell the acorns for 100 bells a piece, or trade them to Cornimer for a piece of Mush furniture.

There are two types of turnips you can but off of Joan each Sunday that’s not a holiday. White turnips you resell to Nook because they are already grown, just ask him what he’s buying turnips for that day, and be sure to sell them before that Saturday because they’ll spoil. The red turnip you will have to bury in the ground and water several times a day and then sell it to Nook for a good price, because he loves red turnips, or give it to Wendell to start the sequence to get the Golden Axe.

Fruits - Native Fruit is worth 100 bells, any foreign fruit is worth 500. There are 6 types, Apples, Cherries, Oranges, Peaches, Pears, and Coconuts.

How To Get The Golden Axe

First :

Buy a red turnip seed bag from Joan on Sunday, plant it and let it grow

then dig it up and have it ready for Wendell.

Second:

Give Wendell the red turnip you grew and he will give

you one of two things, a turban which you can give to Saharah,

or a country guitar, which you can keep or give to K.K. Slider.

Third:

If you get the Country Guitar and give it to K.K. Slider after a performance, he will

give you his picture. This is the end of the trading sequence,

but now you have a nice pic of K. K. Get another red turnip seed bag

and grow it so you can start over.

If you get the turban, give it to Saharah. She will give you either

the massage chair or the red vase.

Fourth:

If you get the red vase, keep it or take it to Redd. He will give you a

safe in exchange. Take the massage chair to Tortimer in exchange for the

rare scallop sea shell.

Fifth:

Take the safe you got to Tom Nook. He will give you a picture of himself.

That’s the end of that trade. Now go worship in your room!

Take the Scallop to Pascal on the shore. He will then ask you if you’re

interested in the golden axe, and then give it to you. Ta-da!

If you’re not interested in the golden axe, you can say the silver one

and he will then give you his picture.
